Status: Unavailable, working with clients
If you are a small or non-profit organization looking for a website, I'll make you one for free.
Free?! But Why?
Making a website for yourself and making a website for a client are two totally different worlds. There is a level of communication that a web designer has to learn and gain experience in when working for a client. By requesting a website, you're helping me gain experience in not only web design, but working with clients. Also, you're keeping me entertained.
Oh, I see! So by doing this, YOU get experience in web design and I get a nice, brand-spankin' new website!
Yes! I'm glad you understand.
Great! So how does this process work? I just ask you to make me a website and poof, its there?
Not exactly. I wish it were that easy. It all begins where you send me a message using the contact page. In the message, please answer the following questions:
- Who are you?
- What is the website for?
If I like what I see, I'll e-mail you back requesting further information so that I can begin the website. I'll be asking you things like how many pages you want the website to be, the content of each page, and the theme of design you would like. So if you send me a request, have this information ready just in case you're selected!
Thats very nice of you! I hope you don't mind me asking... but what kind of web design experience do you have?
Oh, its fine, I don't mind at all.
- I have been scripting in HTML and CSS for two years. HTML is an acronym for HyperText Markup Language, which is a scripting computer language that is recognized by browsers, such as Internet Explorer and Firefox. It is used for the structing of website content. CSS is an acronym for Cascading Style Sheets, which is a scripting language recognized by browsers that styles websites.
- All the websites I make will be validated by W3C (World Wide Web Consortium) standards in XHTML Transitional (the most up-to-date version), so they will be very compatible with internet browsers (even cell phones!).
- I use Javascript for what I'd like to call "internet eye-candy", which is that I basically use programming that the browser recognizes to make websites more interactive and attractive.
- I use PHP to allow websites to accept user input, such as contact forms, so people can e-mail you directly through your website. PHP is an acronym for PHP: Hypertext Protocall. It is a programming language recognized by web servers. It allows for the manipulation and rendering of information, such as user input.
- I use Adobe Photoshop to make website concept designs and splice them into small images, which I structure together using HTML and CSS.
- I use Adobe Flash to make animated banners and navigation bars, so the website will be more interactive and prettier.
I fully reserve the right to decline any request. Remember, these websites will be free because I want experience in dealing with clients. If you don't like that, then go pay for a website!
To the top!
